Slánlus Skin Balm

A soothing, versatile botanical balm for bites, scratches, sore skin and dry lips.

Slánlus is a gentle, glide-on balm made with an infusion of ribwort plantain, calendula, mallow leaf and chamomile,  traditional skin herbs chosen to care for irritated or weathered skin.

Slánlus is the Irish name for ribwort plantain, one of our most familiar native herbs. Its name can be understood as “the health herb” or “the healing plant” Slán meaning well, healthy or whole, and lus meaning a herb or plant.

For generations, freshly crushed plantain leaves have been applied to insect bites, stings, scratches and irritated skin. Plantain contains naturally occurring compounds associated with soothing and anti-inflammatory activity, helping to calm the itching, redness and discomfort that can follow a bite.

The smooth balm glides directly over the skin and compact size makes it easy to keep in your handbag, pocket or first-aid kit, ready for all those little everyday skin mishaps.

You can use Slánlus to care for:

• Itchy skin following insect bites
• Minor scratches and grazes once the skin is closed
• Dry, rough or chapped skin
• Sore, weather-exposed areas
• Dry lips
• Hands, elbows, knees and cuticles
• Skin in need of a little extra comfort

How to use

Remove the cap and glide the balm directly over the area as often as needed. 

For use on lips, apply a light layer directly from the tube.

For external use only. Avoid the eyes and other sensitive areas. Do not apply to deep, open or infected wounds. Discontinue use if irritation occurs. Keep out of reach of young children.

Sunflower oil infused with ribwort plantain, calendula, mallow leaf and chamomile; beeswax; shea butter; peppermint essential oil.

INCI: Helianthus Annuus Seed Oil, Cera Alba, Butyrospermum Parkii Butter, Plantago Major Leaf Extract, Calendula Officinalis Flower Extract, Malva Sylvestris Leaf Extract, Chamomilla Recutita Flower Extract, Mentha Piperita Oil.
